They might be Giants…

On March 15th, members of BLGC had the opportunity to experience their first live basketball game at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester. The group, accompanied by the club’s Sports Development Manager and former Manchester Giants player Anastasios Traianos, had a chance to watch the Manchester Giants battle it out against the Bristol Flyers in the British Basketball League.

For many of the club members, it was their first time visiting an arena and watching their favourite sport live. The atmosphere of the game was electric, and the excitement was tangible as the crowd roared on The Giants. Our young people were thrilled and couldn’t contain their enthusiasm for the game.

The Bolton Lads and Girls Club has a tradition of encouraging young people to explore their interests, and this trip to watch the basketball game was no exception. For the group who attended, the visit was a unique and enthralling experience. The chance to watch professional basketball players ply their trade in person was a special moment that they will cherish for years to come.

As always, the club’s focus was on enriching the lives of its members through opportunities to learn, grow and develop in positive and meaningful ways. The visit to the game was a perfect example of this, adding another exciting chapter to the Club’s mission to enrich the lives of young people in the Greater Manchester area. We look forward to providing more exciting and enriching experiences for our members in the future…watch this space!
