Our service is for young people wanting low intensity support for mild to moderate mental health issues such as worry, generalised anxiety, low mood, sleep issues and emotional dysregulation using a psychosocial, young person led approach. We offer around 6 sessions on mental health and wellbeing in schools, colleges at one of our centers or over the phone.
11-18 years old. Young people should not be currently accessing CAMHS or a counsellor and want and be ready for support.
THRIVE is for young people with any of the following: anxiety, stress, low mood, sadness, poor sleep, concerning changes to mood or behaviour , the impact of family problems/relationships, problems with social interaction/peer relationships and emotional well-being, and other issues that can impact on learning and behaviour.
Where serious mental health or other needs are identified, the student will be signposted or referred to other specialist services and the practitioner will support in making these referrals.
This service is funded via Bolton Together with funds from Bolton CCG.
Young people are generally more at ease face-to-face in a private space at school or BLGC. However, due to COVID is not always possible, so it is important to establish if the young person is available to speak on a video or phone call. We can assist if technology is an issue.
Yes. Any information shared with parents and the referrer will be agreed with the young person. If there is a safeguarding concern the young person will be informed we will be passing it on to the relevant people.
If we are seeing a young person in a school setting we will share the safeguarding concern with the school DSL.
All the information we receive and work completed will be kept secure in line with GDPR.
A professional or parent needs to make the referral with consent from the young person and the parents/carers. All referrals are accepted through Bolton Together Hub which can be accessed here We generally do not work with young people already accessing CAMHS and receiving a service from CORE CAMHS or a specialist service. When a place becomes available, we will arrange an assessment.
Sometimes, we will advise at the time of referral. If we have a waiting list, we might refer you to a Thrive Alliance partner.
